What’s up beautiful people!!! So, today it’s a special one. We’re gonna be touching on a new theme (drum rolls) … Cinematography!!! Now, what I did here is that I found a film released last month i.e. November 2016 and I saw the trailer and constructed my opinion. And since it’s almost Christmas, I thought why not write a word about this film called, “Almost Christmas!” Now, I am a big fan of comedy film as well as Christmas themed films so I guess this film is the perfect combination of the two. Have a look yourselves!!!
So ahahaha, by the looks of it, it seems to me as a very enjoyable film. Basically, the story is about this man who lost his wife the previous year and invites the rest of the family over to spend Christmas time together. But it seems to be easier said than done! What he planned as being 5 days of unity looks as if he’s about to witness his most chaotic week of his lifetime, and that’s an understatement! Apart from the father the first character we encounter really kicks in with the humour element immediately with that Big Mama kinda voice “But the lift is in the dining room”. Then there is the other daughter who is struggling with divorce, it sort of encompasses everything this family!! And while he tries to keep calm and trying to inject the Christmas spirit into the family members, matters keeps getting worse!
Then midway through the trailer there’s this kinda serious part where they are talking about their dead mother and stuff, but then there’s the little girl screaming “Halleluljah” and messes up the moment completely! And I really liked that part when the guy arrived in front of the house and told the other “Hello Santa Claus, time to get some Hoe Hoe Hoes”!!! And there’s the last part or else to explain myself better the bitch bitch bitch part! When the father seems to lose all his hope and throw in the towel and admits defeat in his quest of uniting the family.
To convey a more accurate image to you guys, I read through some of the critics reviews. One review highlighted that even though it may not be a 5 star film, you can clearly see the good time the actors had in filming it and with that in mind, you enjoy it with them. I agree with this in fact. I might have seen trailers which excited me more than this but; one must admire the passion that these actors put in! In case you haven’t heard of Rotten Tomatoes.com, it’s a website where a panel of people rate films and according to their Tomatometer, this film ranks at 50%, with the remarks being on the lines of it being good but not amazing. One critic also went ahead and said that because this family is made up of people with different problems, it attracts different people as these viewers may emphasize with the actors. One critic passed a very savage comment by saying “All I want for Christmas is my two hours back.” The producers were like
Anyways, I’m only commenting on what I’ve seen in the Trailer obviously but it looks as if it makes goo viewing. So the next thing I’ll be doing now is going to download this thing. What do you think of it? Make sure you drop your views in the comments and I can’t say I’ll be back with another one in a weeks’ time cause I’ll be abroad. So that it’s for this week!! Ta Daaa!!!
